Here's the thing - I get a lot of random TikTok messages.

Like, my spam folder has a spam folder.

So, there I am, deep in my nightly doom scroll ritual (you know the one).

When suddenly...

A message from ChatGPT's official TikTok page pops up.

First thought?

"Ah yes, another scammer. But at the same time, I was pretty impressed - A+ for creativity, this looks super legit.."

But - something made me look twice.

Verified badge? Check.

Actual OpenAI branding? Check.

Personalised message about my content that doesn't end with “are you opposed to me bringing you in 50 new leads per day....” Check.

I'm thinking, "Maybe they got hacked? That's definitely it."

Then... ping

Email notification: "@openai.com"

Subject line: "ChatGPT / TikTok Takeover" (Cue internal screaming)

Heart? Racing.
Palms? Sweaty.
Mum's spaghetti? Not yet, but we're getting there.

I go full digital detective: Domain verification? Legit.

Email headers? Clean.

LinkedIn stalking? All real people. (Sorry, OpenAI team, for the 3am profile views)

Still questioning reality, I show my partner: “umm, I think OpenAI just slid into my DMs about taking over their TikTok."

Her, not looking up: "That's nice baby….- WAIT WHAT?"

Fast forward one week →

There I am, on a Zoom call, trying to look professional while my internal monologue is just keyboard smashing.

OpenAI's marketing team: "We'd love you to take over our TikTok account. For one week, if you're open to it?."

Me, externally: "Yes, I’d love to accept this opportunity."

Me, internally: "AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH - What the f..”

So yeah...

For the past week, I’ve been running ChatGPT's TikTok.

I mean, no pressure, right?

There's still a few more days left.
